Facilities for visitors to White Scar Cave

Car park, café, shop, visitor centre, toilets, picnic areas.

Car Park

Vehicles turn off the B6255 road directly onto our tarmac car park, which has marked spaces for 130 cars. The cave entrance is just above the car park, and is approached up stone steps or a gently rising path.

Café

The café serves refreshments, snacks and light meals. The seating area has large windows looking out over the dales towards the sea.

Shop

The shop stocks rock and mineral samples, jewellery, and a range of other goods including books, toys and gifts.

Visitor Centre

The visitor centre has a covered courtyard, ticket office, and information room. The eco-friendly roof is covered with grass, blending into the landscape of the National Park. The information room has a large-scale plan of the cave system, historic photographs, and material about nearby places of interest.

Toilets

There are baby-changing facilities, and a separate toilet adapted for the disabled. The entrances to the toilets are on the left at the foot of the wide stone steps that lead up to the ticket office.

Picnic areas

There are grassy picnic areas with wooden benches and trees.
